There are some things in life,
that I just can't do without,
like a glass of apple juice, a good book,
and the right to be able to freak out.
There are some things in life,
that I'm always bound to miss,
like days at the beach, my pet dog,
or a really passionate kiss.
There are some things in life,
that I'm sure to want more of,
like good friends, better times,
and a love I'll be able to show off.
There are some things in life,
that I always want to do properly,
like driving a car, doing my job,
or looking out for somebody.
There are some things in life,
of which I wouldn't want to let go,
like that last bit of change, my favorite shoes,
and those memories I'm holding onto quite dearly so.
There are some things in life,
that are just bound to happen,
like growing old, killer hangovers,
and falling for someone all over again.
There are some things in life,
that are just meant to make me smile,
like a silly love song, doing something good
and knowing I'll be seeing you in a while.
There are some things in life,
that I just can't explain,
like why dogs hate cats, the knicks suck,
and how you can sometimes drive me insane.
There are some things in life,
that I just can't understand,
like biochemistry, the appeal of chick flicks,
and why I'm happy when I hold your hand.
And there are some things in life,
about which there's nothing else that i can do,
like always being sleepy, sometimes missing home,
and the itty bitty fact that i like you...

yeah, there's nothing like a little melancholy to get the creative juices flowing. i guess that's why all the great love songs are sad... :p
